Wirewalker from Dagestan performs between raised bridges over Neva river

Makhachkala, May 28, 2018. Dagestani rope-walker Rasul Abakarov walked between the diverged sections of the Palace Bridge. The distance over the Neva was 45 meters and the length of the rope made 35 meters. It took Abakarov about 2 minutes to reach the opposite side of the river.

The performance started at 23 o'clock on May 26, on the eve of the 315th birthday of the city, as part of the light-music show "Singing Bridges". The wirewalker said that he started to train several months ago to perform with minimal use of safety ropes.
It should be noted that Rasul Abakarov is the representative of the genus of Dagestani rope-walkers, the founders of the world-famous circus dynasty from the village of Tsovkra. He was born and brought up in Leningrad. He graduated from the St. Petersburg State University of Culture and then served in the army - in the Song and Dance Ensemble of Leningrad Military District.

Abakarov started his creative activity in 1999. With concert numbers the rope-walker traveled almost all regions of Russia and foreign countries.
