Makhachkala, February 20, 2018. The first international gastronomic festival “Visit Dagestan 2018” will be held in the republic on March 24-27, the press service of the Ministry of Tourism and Folk Arts of Dagestan informs.

The festival is a kind of international culinary championship. The leading international judges and experts in the field of cooking will hold master classes. The event envisages holding business lunches and the master classes on traditional cooking of the peoples of Dagestan.

The mastery of participants in the culinary championship will be assessed by an international culinary judges, the honorary lifelong member of the World Association of Chefs Societies Iztok Legat, the founder of the synergistic cuisine Michelin star Michelle Lenz, the president of the Georgian Culinary Federation Levani Kobiashvili and the other Russian and foreign culinary experts. The acceptance of applications for participation in the championship has been launched. More than 20 teams had already confirmed intention to arrive in Dagestan.

Besides, a round table "World trends in the development of gastronomic tourism. Perspectives of Dagestan" moderated by Leonid Gelibterman, a member of the Presidium of the Expert Council of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) on gastronomic tourism, the president of the International Enogastronomic Center (IEC) is scheduled.
