After the withdrawal of a number of well-known foreign film studios from the film distribution and a noticeable drop in profitability in 2022, the cinemas halls in Makhachkala began to restore profits in 2023.

Since the beginning of the year, in Makhachkala, the sum of collections for this period amounted to RUB 137.3 million (a twofold increase). Here cinemas were visited by 420 thousand people, which is 86% more than the indicator of the same period in 2022.

This is reported in the statistical data of the Unified Automated Information System. Noteworthy, the income of cinemas increased in almost all regions of the North Caucasian Federal District. In terms of collections in the Russian Federation, Moscow is the leader - 3.8 billion rubles, Moscow region - 2 billion rubles and St. Petersburg - 1.5 billion rubles.
