Dagestan State Opera and Ballet Theatre presented a premiere of Nabi Dagirov's opera "The Blade of Bazalai" in a concert performance by Natalia Makeeva, conductor and director of the Honored Artist of the Republic of Dagestan. The opera is based on the story of the master Bazalai, whose blades surpassed even Damascus weapons. A blade bearing the name of Bazalai was valued extremely high and the name became a nominal for a good dagger. The premiere was attended by the composer's relatives and friends, cultural figures, art critics and residents of the village of Verkhnee Kazanishche, the ancestral village of Nabi Dagirov.
