Volume of agricultural production increases by 4% in Dagestan

Makhachkala, October 24, 2017. The volume of agricultural production in Dagestan in the first nine months of 2017 grew by 4% compared to the same period of the last year and amounted to more than 73.9 billion rubles. This was reported on Thursday at the press service organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan.

"The volume of agricultural production in Dagestan in January-September 2017 grew by 4% compared to the same period in 2016" the official report of the state body runs. At the same time, in the sphere of plant growing, the volume of production increased by 4.9%, in the sphere of animal husbandry - by 3%.

Earlier media had forecasted the growth of agricultural production in the republic in 2017 at the level of 3.3%. Such expectations related to the commissioning and modernization of a number of industries within the framework of the priority project "Effective Agro Industrial Complex", as well as the plan of measures to promote import substitution.

This year in Dagestan, intensive gardens were planted in the area of 593 hectares. This is three times higher than the target for the current year. Besides, the new vineyards were laid on an area of 853 hectares, which makes 57% of the target.
