Dagestan delegation headed by the first deputy chairman of the Government of the Republic of Dagestan Batyr Emeyev visited the Gorky Automobile Plant (GAZ) in Nizhny Novgorod, which is a leading manufacturer of commercial vehicles in Russia.
The delegation included Minister for Industry and Trade Nizam Khalilov as well as the representatives of the regional manufacturing companies. The guests got familiarized with the latest technologies at production lines in the shops for stamping, welding, painting and assembly of cars.

“In the near future, we intend to establish cooperation for the production of some components for cars produced by the Gorky Automobile Plant at our Dagestan enterprises” - Batyr Emeyev noted following his visit to the plant. The sales territory of GAZ products covers the entire Russia, the CIS countries and far abroad. Approx. 50% of passenger cars in the Russian market are produced by the Gorky Automobile Plant. The share of medium-duty trucks makes about 70%.

Currently, the plant purchases components from various manufacturers for the amount of about 60 billion rubles per year. The cooperation with one of the largest enterprises in the country can become a serious contribution to the growth of production and the economy of Dagestan. An agreement on cooperation between the Government of Dagestan and the GAZ Group was signed on June 29 this year. The document also implies work in the areas of increasing the efficiency of enterprises in the republic by updating and modernizing the existing vehicle fleet, meeting the needs of Dagestan enterprises in high-quality and modern technology produced by the GAZ Group, developing service and other infrastructure that ensures the efficient and reliable operation of the used automotive equipment and the implementation of national projects determined by the Decree of President of the Russian Federation "On national goals and strategic objectives of development of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2024".
