MAKHACHKALA, October 16 – RIA "Dagestan". The first specialized skate park in Dagestan has opened in Makhachkala, at 70 Petra I Avenue. The ground features a modern modular design equipped with professional-grade obstacles, including quarterpipes, a funbox with edges and rails, banks, a flybox, manual pads and a comprehensive skate plaza.
Designed to accommodate skateboarders, BMX riders and freestyle scooter enthusiasts, the venue provides a structured alternative to unorganized street recreation.
Acting Youth Affairs Minister Kamil Saidov hailed the new hub as a vital step in giving young people a safe, active alternative to hanging out on the streets. "We want our youth to have more opportunities for sports and self-realization," Saidov noted, predicting the park will quickly become a focal point for new community initiatives. Built through a collaboration between the regional Youth Ministry and the city administration, the project serves a key component of broader campaign in Dagestan to promote healthy lifestyles and substance abuse prevention.
