MAKHACHKALA, October 14 – RIA "Dagestan". The 95th anniversary of Dagestan State University (DSU), marked by a ceremonial gathering in Makhachkala attended by regional governor Fyodor Shchukin, served as an occasion to assess the institution’s developmental trajectory and regional impact.
Founded in 1931, DSU has produced over 150,000 graduates and now operates with an enrollment exceeding 18,000 students taught by approximately 800 pedagogues, solidifying its position as a premier higher education provider across the Northern Caucasus.
Rector Murtazali Rabadanov framed the anniversary as a testament to sustained institutional growth. Acting Head Shchukin’s address linked educational attainment to broader socio-civic formation, awarding honors to pedagogical staff and exhorting students to align academic pursuits with ambitious career objectives.
Endorsements from external stakeholders—including Lomonosov MSU Rector Viktor Sadovnichy and Makhachkala Mayor Dzhambulat Salavov—underscored DSU’s integration within national academic networks and local governance structures, reinforcing its dual role as an educational engine and cultural anchor.
