MAKHACHKALA, March 13 – RIA Dagestan. Two municipal museums from Dagestan have been selected as winners of the "Museum 4.0" competition within the Potanin Foundation's charitable program "Museum Without Borders". Out of 355 applications submitted by 332 organizations from 75 Russian regions, 19 institutions were awarded grants—including two from Dagestan.
Kaspiysk Local History Museum won in the "Culture of Participation" category with its project "Give It a Go, Engine!"—titled after a 1930s newspaper published during the construction of the Dagdizel plant and the settlement that later became Kaspiysk. The Makhachkala History Museum secured victory in the "Museum + Theater" category with its project "Setting: Makhachkala".
Both projects will implement art residencies for artists engaged in heritage revitalization, alongside public meetings, creative laboratories, art mediation sessions, and community discussions aimed at fostering sustainable civic engagement. The first events under these initiatives are scheduled to launch in May 2026.
