GELENDZHIK, June 7 – RIA Dagestan. A. Taho-Godi National Museum of the Republic of Dagestan has presented the "My Dagestan" exhibition at Gelendzhik Historical and Local Lore Museum. The event is timed to coincide with the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and the 195th anniversary of the resort city of Gelendzhik.
The opening ceremony brought together Ekaterina Kurs, Deputy Chairwoman of the Duma of Gelendzhik Municipal Formation; Natalia Gadzyuk, director of Gelendzhik Historical and Local Lore Museum; Aida Kurbanova, exhibition curator and Head of the Registration Department at the National Museum of Dagestan and Sheker Garibova, a representative of Dagestani community.
The project is designed by Zaira Kildeeva, Chief Keeper at A. Taho-Godi National Museum. It presents over 150 original ethnographic artifacts spanning the 19th century through the first half of the 20th century—traditional dress, household goods, ceremonial items, weaponry, jewelry and Dagestani handicrafts.
Aida Kurbanova led a guided tour for the guests, during which she discussed the symbolism of national costumes, the history of Dagestani crafts, the distinctive art of the republic's peoples, and the link between traditions and modern life.
The musical accompaniment for the evening featured performances by Svetlana Buzhan and the patriotic composition "My Home is Russia" performed by Sergey Zakharenko.
The exhibition will remain open at Gelendzhik Historical and Local Lore Museum until September 7, 2026.
