SULEIMAN-STALSKY DISTRICT, May 23– RIA Dagestan. The First International Literary Festival "Origins" was held in Dagestan as part of the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. The grand opening ceremony, dedicated to the founders of the republic's multinational literary tradition, took place in Suleiman Stalsky Park in Makhachkala.

Delegations from the Union of Writers of Russia and cultural figures from Georgia and Belarus attended the festival, laying flowers at Suleiman Stalsky's monument and celebrating the 157th anniversary of his birth at his memorial house-museum in Ashaga-Stal.

Participants shared memories of the poet's work, examined museum relics, and discussed his contribution to Dagestani literature. A traditional tea ceremony was held under the mulberry tree planted by Stalsky himself, a historic gathering place for renowned writers.

The program also included poetry readings and a literary evening at the Palace of Culture in Kasumkent. The event highlighted Dagestan's literary heritage while fostering intercultural dialogue among participants from multiple countries.
