MAKHACHKALA, May 19 – RIA Dagestan. The Week of the Russian Language has commenced at the Center for Russian Language and Culture in Dagestan, timed to coincide with Slavic Literature and Culture Day. Throughout the week, the Center will host dictation exercises, intellectual games, literary meetings, and interactive sessions for schoolchildren and students.
As to the organizers, the event is designed not as a formal series of activities, but as a dynamic platform for discussion about literature, language and the cultural values that unite generations.
"The Word That Unites Worlds" dictation campaign based on Leo Tolstoy's novella Hadji Murat has become a key event of the opening day. The dictation text was read by Ruslan Lugovoy, Director of the Center for Russian Language and Culture. Participants included second-year students from the Faculty of Philology at Rasul Gamzatov Dagestan State Pedagogical University.
For the younger schoolchildren, an interactive journey titled "Through the Centuries – To the Origins of Writing" has been prepared, focusing on the history of the Slavic alphabet. High school students will take part in an intellectual game called "The Great and Mighty Russian Language…"
The Week will finish with a literary lounge event dedicated to the 135th anniversary of Mikhail Bulgakov.
