According to preliminary data, the volume of GRP in Dagestan in 2023 will amount to about 991 billion rubles, which is 3.1% more than in 2022. This has been voiced by the chairman of the republican government Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov during his annual report to the Parliament.

"It is predicted that this year the GRP volume will exceed one trillion rubles for the first time, which is a significant achievement for the region" - the top official said. The GRP growth is associated with the increase in investment in Dagestan economy which grew by 5% mainly due to own resources of enterprises, population and loans.
"The greatest growth of investment activity is registered in the spheres of construction, agriculture and tourism. An important factor in the development of the regional economy is the expansion of the international transport corridor "North - South", which contributes to strengthening trade ties between Dagestan and other countries" - Abdulmuslimov noted.

The significant contribution of small and medium-sized businesses to the development of the regional economy was also noted. This contributes to the creation of new jobs and increase in tax revenues to the republican consolidated budget.
