Makhachkala, June 28, 2019. The Federal Grid Company will invest more than 6.8 billion rubles in modernization of energy supply networks in the south of Dagestan. As reported, by the end of the year, the Federal Grid Company United Energy System will have completed the modernization of Derbent substation and the construction of the 330-kV overhead line Artem - Derbent.

The project is associated with the installation of new equipment in the substation and the replacement of power lines. The work on installation of integrated switchgear with gas-insulated insulation is underway.

The modernization will increase the capacity of international energy transit to Azerbaijan. The replacement of equipment will increase fire safety, environmental friendliness, performance and durability at the grid facilities. The communication among the grid facilities will be carried out via fiber-optic lines.
