Makhachkala airport to develop light aviation in Dagestan

Makhachkala, September 13, 2018. Makhachkala Uytash Airport intends to develop light aviation in the republic. For this, a fleet of helicopters will be purchased. Besides, the local authorities plan to build several helipads in the regions of the republic. For the present time, the light aviation flights are in great demand – the experts say.

The helicopters will be used for the excursions to the places of interest, such as the Naryn-Kala citadel, the Samursky forest, the abandoned village of Gamsutl, the Sulak canyon, the Saltinskiy waterfall and the Shalbuzdag Mount.

The expansion of the touristic activity is beneficial to both the private tourist companies and the public authorities of the Republic of Dagestan. The Ministry for Affairs of the Northern Caucasus of Russia displayed interest to the pproject.
The first three helipads each - worth more than 3 million rubles will be built in Derbent, on the Shalbuzdag Mount and in the village of Salta located in Gunibski district.
