Dagestan has budgeted RUB 222.5 million for rail transport subsidies in 2024. According to the regional Ministry of Transport, RUB 147.8 million was allocated for this purpose in 2023, compared to RUB 107.5 million in 2022. The increase in costs is due to the growing popularity of rail transport and the increase of the rolling stock. The funds will compensation to carriers for loss of revenue. Thus, the fare will remain affordable for citizens.
