MAKHACHKALA, October 7 – RIA "Dagestan". Dagestani boxer Zaur Abdullaev is scheduled to face fellow countryman Khariton Agrba on October 10 for the interim World Boxing Association (WBA) light welterweight championship. The highly anticipated bout will be hosted in Yekaterinburg under the promotional banner of RCC Boxing.
For the 32-year-old Abdullaev, this matchup marks only his second appearance in the 140-pound division, following a successful transition in November of last year when he captured the WBA Gold title by defeating Argentinian Hugo Roldan.
Abdullaev currently holds the No. 11 spot in the official WBA rankings, while his 30-year-old opponent, Agrba, enters the ring as the organization's top-ranked contender in the weight class.
