MAKHACHKALA, May 19 – RIA Dagestan. Two-time world and 2024 European champion Sharabutdin Ataev will face Chinese boxer Saipaier Ruzi in an eight-round light heavyweight rating bout on May 30 in Yekaterinburg. The fight will take place at the UGMK Arena as part of an RCC Boxing Promotions event, headlined by undisputed light heavyweight world champion Dmitry Bivol defending his title against IBF mandatory challenger Michael Eifert of Germany.
Ataev, who last competed in July 2025 with a unanimous decision victory over David Gladun, currently holds the third position in the WBA rankings and eighth place in the IBF rankings in the light heavyweight division. His opponent, Saipaier Ruzi, most recently fought in November 2025 in Australia, where he defeated local prospect Jordan Roesler by first-round technical knockout to claim the WBC Youth title.
This matchup represents an important step for both fighters in their respective careers, with Ataev looking to strengthen his position among the world's top light heavyweights ahead of potential title opportunities, while Ruzi aims to establish himself on the international stage against experienced competition.
