MAKHACHKALA, August 24 – RIA Dagestan. Olympic silver medalist for Belarus Magomedkhabib Kadamagomedov had a successful outing at the 12th numbered tournament of the Real American Freestyle (RAF) league.
The wrestling event took place early morning, August 23, in Cleveland, USA. Dagestani middleweight dominated his bout against local athlete Will Lewan, leading 7-0 by the end of the first period. Just seconds before the intermission, the American suffered a leg injury and was forced to withdraw from the match.
This was Magomedkhabib's fourth appearance on the mat in the RAF: he previously defeated Dustin Plott but lost to Kyle Dake and Evan Wick.
The tournament card featured a total of 12 bouts. In the main event, American Olympic champion Henry Cejudo pinned former UFC champion Merab Dvalishvili, getting his revenge for a loss to the Georgian fighter in Tbilisi at RAF Georgia in July. The victory brought the American the "RAF Crossover" belt, established for matchups between stars from different combat sports.
The league's next tournament will take place on September 5 in Moscow. Several Russian stars are expected to participate, including two-time Olympic champion Abdulrashid Sadulaev.
