TBILISI, March 23 – RIA Dagestan. Ramazan Abdulaev has become a bronze medalist at the international judo Grand Slam tournament held in Tbilisi. Dagestani represented the Russian national team in the weight category up to 66 kg. Abdulaev competed in five matches on the tatami. In the quarterfinals, he lost to 19-year-old junior world champion Tornike Gigauri from Georgia.
In the repechage round for the bronze medal, he first defeated a World Championship medalist from Finland, and then secured a decisive victory over his opponent from Spain. The Russian national team finished in second place in the overall medal standings of the competition.
