KASPIYSK, March 6 – RIA "Dagestan". From March 23 to April 1, the Ali Aliyev Sports Palace in Kaspiysk will host the Russian Junior Weightlifting Championship for boys aged 13–15. This will be the first time this All-Russian competition takes place in the republic.
Dagestani national team, coached by Mansur Elmurzaev, gets prepared for the home tournament at a two-week training camp in Karaman at the Regional Center for Sports Training. The squad comprises 20 athletes plus several reserves, all following a structured daily training schedule. Elmurzaev expressed confidence in the team's strength, noting its recognition beyond Dagestan among specialists and athletes.
Among Dagestan's promising young weightlifters, Beibulat Nazirov—a bronze medalist at the European Junior Championship—is currently training with the Russian national team. Meanwhile, Buvaisar Believ and Islam Abakarov are preparing with the Russian junior team in Kislovodsk ahead of the World Championship, scheduled for early May in Egypt.
