MAKHACHKALA, June 2 – RIA Dagestan. A sixth-year general medicine student at Dagestan State Medical University, Naida Iminova, has won a prize in the ninth season of the "I Am a Professional" All-Russian Olympiad.
This marks DSMU's first prize-winner result in the competition, which is the flagship project of the presidential platform "Russia – Land of Opportunity". Iminova, who serves as Chair of the Student Scientific Society and is active in SNK Physioland, advanced through the online quarterfinal and semifinal rounds to reach the final, which took place on April 15 at I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University.
After expert review, she was named among the prize winners. The accomplishment gives her the right to receive up to 20 additional points when applying for residency positions, as well as access to internships and job placements at leading medical and research institutions nationwide.
According to university officials, the success bolsters the institution's standing in national education quality rankings and charts a new course for the development of student research and clinical practice in the region. It also encourages young specialists to participate in competitions at the federal level. As noted, the result matches the focus of national education policy, which, following presidential decrees and strategic initiatives, is directed toward cultivating practical competencies, promoting early professional immersion, and deploying the "Professionalitet" program to produce advanced personnel for essential areas such as healthcare. Across Russia, 215,515 students from more than 1,300 educational institutions competed in the ninth season of the Olympiad.
