MAKHACHKALA, April 6 – RIA Dagestan. President Vladimir Putin has spoken by phone with Emergency Situations Minister Alexander Kurenkov and Dagestani Head Sergei Melikov, receiving updates on the aftermath of unprecedented heavy rainfall in the republic.
The President subsequently directed all relevant federal agencies to prioritize assistance to citizens affected by the disaster.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the situation would be examined in depth at a special meeting on April 7, bringing together representatives from Dagestan, EMERCOM and federal authorities.
