More Than RUB 3 Billion Paid to Dagestanis Affected by Floods

MAKHACHKALA, August 14 – RIA "Dagestan". Dagestan authorities continue extensive flood recovery operations, having disbursed more than RUB 3 billion to 82,000 residents while receiving systematic federal reimbursements for ongoing costs.

Progress is reviewed weekly by the Government Commission chaired by EMERCOM Minister Alexander Kurenkov and remains under personal daily control of regional governor Fyodor Shchukin.

Authorities have completed the primary application phase through multifunctional centers and are now verifying lists for housing compensation certificates to be issued soon. Significant funding has been allocated for social infrastructure. Social sector restoration includes RUB 76.2 million designated for repairing nine healthcare facilities alongside active construction of new schools across multiple villages.

Completion levels for these educational projects vary significantly, from over 20% in Arablinskoye to 80% in Adilotar, reflecting site-specific challenges. Officials stress that rebuilding prioritizes qualitative infrastructure upgrades adapted to climatic conditions, exemplified by extended planning for the Irib school to mitigate future flooding risks through comprehensive terrain analysis.
