MAKHACHKALA, February 13 – RIA “Dagestan”. Dagestan has been officially recognized by the federal government for its exceptional progress in implementing national projects. This acknowledgment came during a high-profile meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, which brought together leaders from across Russia’s regions.
Education Minister Sergey Kravtsov personally commended Republic Head Sergei Melikov for exceeding targets in key areas—particularly in education infrastructure. The republic’s achievements include the construction of 111 schools and 97 kindergartens over the past five years, along with extensive renovations of 374 schools, 63 kindergartens and additional facilities like colleges and supplementary education centers. Notably, gymnasiums in 42 schools were fully modernized.
Dagestan has also been named a top-performing region in school modernization for both 2024 and 2025. Looking ahead, ambitious projects are already in motion, including the construction of 19 new schools (over 10,000 places) and 12 kindergartens (adding 2,100 places). Additionally, the republic develops specialized facilities like the "Avangard" military-patriotic center and the Regional House of "Yunarmiya" under the newly launched national initiatives "Youth and Children" and "Family".
