MAKHACHKALA, October 28 – RIA "Dagestan". Dagestan will host the Southern Russia Elders' Forum on October 29–30, bringing together civic leaders, religious figures and government officials from across the North Caucasian and Southern Federal Districts.
Organized by the regional Ministry for National Policy and religious Affairs under the theme "The Wisdom of Generations in the Unity of Russia", the event aims to amplify the voice of elders in modern society.
Discussions will address preserving cultural heritage, promoting traditional values, and combating religious intolerance and anti-Semitism. The two-day program includes specialized panels on elders as guardians of moral values and their influence on grassroots public diplomacy.
Beyond the main conference halls, the forum will engage communities through "Councils of the Wise" mentorship meetings with vulnerable children across the republic. Major plenary session on October 30 at the "Russia — My History" park, attended by Head of Dagestan Fyodor Shchukin is expected to become a key event.
