MAKHACHKALA, April 28 – RIA "Dagestan." As to Emin Merdanov, the Minister of Tourism and Folk Arts of Dagestan, the establishment of the Caspian Coastal Cluster is strategically intended to facilitate a more balanced distribution of tourist flows throughout the republic.
Merdanov highlighted the disproportionate concentration of tourists at popular sites. Solutions include infrastructure enhancements, new attractions and large-scale projects. The Caspian Coastal Cluster in Derbent District (capacity: 12,000 visitors) is expected to diversify tourist routes, ease overcrowding, promote alternative destinations and boost southern Dagestan's tourism potential.
