MAKHACHKALA, February 12 – RIA “Dagestan”. Intellectual property activity across the North Caucasian regions in 2024–2025 showed varied but generally positive trends. According to Kommersant, citing data from Rospatent, Dagestan recorded the highest growth among the republics in the registration of means of individualization.
Entrepreneurs in Dagestan filed 1,124 trademark applications during the reporting period, compared to 909 in the previous year. The number of registered trademarks rose by 50%, from 413 to 621. Utility model applications also doubled, increasing from 10 to 20. In contrast, filings for inventions and industrial designs declined.
Other republics exhibited differing dynamics. In Karachay-Cherkessia, invention applications more than doubled, rising from 5 to 12, despite a decrease in utility model submissions. North Ossetia–Alania recorded an increase of 19 invention applications over the same period.
