KASPIYSK, September 29 – RIA "Dagestan". The Ali Aliyev Sports Complex in Kaspiysk is currently hosting a two-day IV Agro-Industrial Forum "DagAgroCaspian-2026". The major industry event has drawn more than 100 participating companies from across Russia, alongside international guests from China, Turkey and Belarus.
Participants showcase cutting-edge agricultural machinery and tech, featuring specialized solutions for orchards, vineyards, livestock farming and greenhouse cultivation. More than just a trade show, the forum acts as a vital networking hub for exchanging industry insights, forging business partnerships, and discovering innovations to drive Dagestan agricultural sector forward.
Addressing the attendees at the opening ceremony, Dagestan Acting Minister of Agriculture and Food, Ivan Golub, highlighted the republic's year-on-year growth in greenhouse vegetable output. The top official reported that in 2025, local farms harvested 85,000 tons of greenhouse vegetables across a total area of 600 hectares. Golub named expanding greenhouse acreage, integrating modern tech and improving fruit and vegetable farming methods as the main priorities ahead.
State Duma Deputy and head of the Russian Greenhouse Association, Alexey Sitnikov, pointed out Dagestan's crucial role in the country's agricultural landscape. "This is especially true for greenhouse farming. The region is on track to become a key hub for greenhouse tomato production. We also face the challenge of boosting the share of locally grown flowers—a direction in which the republic has tremendous prospects" - Sitnikov remarked.
The forum is organized by Dagestan Ministry of Agriculture and Food and the regional "Greenhouses of Dagestan" Association.
