The State Institution "Republican information agency "Dagestan" was established on March 15, 2005 by the Ministry for National Policy, Information and External Relations of the Republic of Dagestan. Initially a strategic principle of open access to the informational resources of the agency for all readers was adopted; the Internet was selected as the main dissemination channel.

The information agency "Dagestan" is a recognized professional in the sphere of supplying operative information in economics and finance. RIA "Dagestan" fulfils the collection and dissemination of operational financial and economic information from administration of the President of Dagestan, the Government of Dagestan, the People's Assembly of Dagestan, the ministries and departments RD and industrial enterprises.

An important objective of the agency is to strengthen partnerships with the mass media of other regions of the country, especially with the news agencies, which make it possible not only to receive information materials, but share them.

The target audience of the RIA «Dagestan» is the mass media representatives, the heads of enterprises, government officials, the employees of investment companies, research organizations and educational institutions.
