Makhachkala, October 15, 2015. On October 14 the republican championship in volleyball among youth sports schools, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Major General Omar Murtazaliev kicked off in sports stadium "Trud" in Makhachkala. The Deputy Prime Minister RD Abdusamad Gamidov and the vice Premier Ramazan Jafarov attended the official opening ceremony of the competition, which involved more than 15 teams.

Having congratulated Murtazaliev on behalf of the Republic and all the Dagestanis Abdusamad Gamidov, in particular, said:

"The large and bright life of Omar Murtazaliev confirms that he is very intelligent person, a real statesman, a man with the scope that goes far beyond Dagestan and the Northern Caucasus.

Omar Murtazalievich, despite all historical changes, has always remained faithful to his ideological beliefs, principles and morals. This sociable person, endowed with perfect memory and sense of humor, is always ready to help anyone. He is a man of the highest standard of integrity, honesty, wisdom, erudition, a real example to follow".

The event continued with a game between the volleyball teams of Kizilyurt and Khasavyurt. Let us remind that Omar Murtazaliyev was born October 14, 1925 in the village of Kull located in Gunibsky district of Dagestan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.

Since 1981, for 4 years, he served in military forces in Afghanistan. For perfect service Murtazaliyev was awarded with the rank of Major General. After returning home, Murtazaliyev was appointed to the position of dean of the Special Faculty of the Academy of the Federal Security Service of Russia.

The TV Squad of the regional specialists-pathfinders operating in Dagestan for more than 40 years is long led by Omar Murtazaliyev. Besides, he is the President of the Athletics Federation of Dagestan.
