Taekwondo athlete Amina Nimatulaeva wins bronze of tournament in Sweden

Makhachkala, February 12, 2014. Taekwondo athlete Amina Nimatulaeva won bronze at an international tournament finished yesterday in Trelleborg, Sweden, athlete’s coach Gussein Magomedov told RIA "Daghestan".

He said Nimatulaeva had 3 fights at the tournament. A 63 kg weight, she started the competition knocking out her Denmark’s opponent breaking her nose by a roundhouse heel kick. The second fight with a Mexican athlete was won on points. Reaching the semifinal, Nimatulaeva opposed a Turkey’s athlete who, according to her coach, she had already defeated last year in the final bout at the tournament in Hamburg, Germany.

Besides Nimatulaeva, Daghestan was also presented by Shamsudin Gamzatov at the tournament, but he was bounced out earlier in the competition.

Amina Nimatulaeva is a member of the Russian junior team and she is a candidate to participate in the upcoming Youth Olympic Games to be held in Nanjing, China, 16-28 August. After the tournament in Sweden, Nimatulaeva went to Chekhov, Moscow region. Here, she will train with the national team for 2 weeks. Here, coaches of the Russian junior team will determine the final list of participants for the Youth Olympic Games.
