Seven foreign countries to participate in VIII Intercontinental freestyle wrestling competition in Dagestan

Makhachkala, October 7, 2016. The 7 foreign countries have confirmed their participation in the Intercontinental freestyle wrestling competition held for the eighth time in Khasavyurt on October 15-16, the vice president of Dagestan Wrestling Federation Abshin Abshinov says.

The organizers of the sporting event became Dagestan Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports, Khasavyurt administration, the All Russian and regional Wrestling Federation.
The tournament is held since 2009 in order to perpetuate the memory of famous wrestlers of 19-20 centuries. The competition traditionally will take place in the Palace of Sports named after Gamid Gamidov.

Besides the fighters of the Russian regions, the athletes from countries such as Ukraine, Turkey, Brazil, Russia, Poland, USA, Azerbaijan including Dagestan sent applications on the tournament.
During the two days of competitions, the freestyle wrestlers will compete for medals in 8 weight categories: 57, 61, 65, 70, 74, 86, 97, 125 kg.
