Rugby volunteers from South Africa and the United States arrive in Dagestan

Makhachkala, July 3, 2015. The well-known rugby experts fr om South Africa, the United States and the regions of Russia have arrived in Dagestan within the project "To the world through sport and culture" in order to promote and to develop sport in the republic. Today, July 3, a small press conference has been held in the hall of the republican Volleyball Center, where the visiting guests told about the purpose of their visit.

The President of Dagestan Rugby Federation Magomedrasul Isayev noted that the project "To the world through sport and culture" would be implemented within several years in Dagestan.

"Our colleagues and friends from foreign countries came to share their extensive experience, - Isayev said. - Dagestan Rugby Federation has held these sport events under the project "To the world through sport and culture” since 2012. The title of our project speaks for itself. We know that the political situation is not perfect in different countries of the world - somewh ere there is war, people have to go through difficulties. We want to make peace through the values of sport. Rugby really brings people together and we see it today. Tomorrow we join colleagues from Ukraine. "

According to the President of the Rugby Federation, rugby experts will stay in Dagestan until July 14. The rugby tournament entitled “Cup of the peoples of Dagestan” will be held at Makhachkala stadium "Trud" .

"Rugby is rapidly and gradually developing in Dagestan. On May 9, the Victory Day, we had a contest for the Russian Super Cup. The representatives of the International Rugby Board (IRB) also attended the event and remarked the high level of organization. At the same time, we launched a program “Get in to rugby”.

A representative of the World Rugby, Rugby Development Manager for Europe, Douglas Langley and the Program Coordinator for Europe Jose Gorrohategi held a seminar for 35 teachers, students and coaches, as well as 30 children. It means that rugby as a sport is well developed in Dagestan and we’d like to establish one of rugby centers in Dagestan. It is planned to hold match between the Russia and Georgia national teams in Dagestan next "- Isayev resumed.

The representative of the Russian Rugby Academy, coach from South Africa Hendry Smith noted that he had come in Dagestan for the second time.

"We are pleased to be here today. Personally, Magomedrasul Isayev invited me. Last time when I was in Dagestan - it was also a very good time for us. We all love rugby. Through rugby, we try to promote the values and life-styles to people.

We are ready to share our experiences. It is very important to develop rugby in. I would like to express special gratitude to the President of Dagestan Rugby Federation Magomedrasul Isayev, who does a lot for the promotion of the sport, "- Smith said.
