Rugby player Baizat Hamidova to perform at World Series event in London

Makhachkala, May 14, 2015. Baizat Hamidova will play for the Russian team at the 5th stage of the women's World Rugby-7 Series scheduled to run May 15-16 in London, coach of Dagestan team Magomed Gadjimagomedov told RIA Dagestan.

"The Russia team coaching staff included 11 players in the bid for the British event. Baizat Hamidova is one of them. The Russian women’s team almost lost every chance to qualify for the Olympics through the World Series. They had lost much in the first three stages where they performed totally unlucky. Only at the Canadian event, the Russian team showed its real strength for the first time ever reaching the final of the World Series," Gadjimagomedov enlarged.

Baizat Hamidova is a double European champion with the Russian team which will be able to qualify for the Olympic Games through the continental championship. "We will have a chance to get to the Olympics during two rounds of the European championship to be held this June in France and Russia. For two years in a row Russian rugby players proved to be the strongest in Europe.

Gadjimagomedov also said that the eldest of the Khamidov sisters - Navrat will not be able to help the team in the remaining official event due to an injury.
In the UK, the Russian national team will play with teams of Canada and South Africa in the group stage.
