Makhachkala, December 27, 2018. Rasul Nazirov won the gold medal at the Russian Table Tennis Cup among athletes with a lesion of the musculoskeletal system. The All-Russian tournament was held on December 19 - 23 in St. Petersburg. For Dagestani tennis player, this was the fifth victory in the Russian Cup. In the finals, Rasul Nazirov defeated the winner of the European and World Championships Sergey Poddubny. Another Dagestani Arsen Bazayev took the 6th place.

Rasul Nazirov is a two-time champion of Russia, 4 more times he became the silver medalist in the Russian championship, won the World Amputee and Wheelchair Games, is a candidate for the Russian Olympic team.

The participation of Dagestan tennis players in the Paralympic Games depends largely on their success in the rating international tournaments. The first of them will be held in March 2019 in Italy.
