Fencing school named after Vladimir Nazlymov to be opened in Dagestan

Makhachkala, October 5, 2016. Dagestani Head Ramazan Abdulatipov has met today, October 5, with the deputy Minister of Sport of the Russian Federation Marina Tomilova and the three-fold Olympic champion in fencing Vladimir Nazlymov, the press service of the administration of the head of Dagestan.

During the conversation the Head of the region proposed the creation of a specialized fencing school named after Vladimir Nazlymov in the republic. The legendary swordsman thanked Abdulatipov and expressed his confidence that this kind of sport will find its admirers among the young Dagestanis.

According to the Olympic champion, the school requires no significant costs, except for a room and equipment for fencing. Nazlymov took over the maintenance of schools and coaches’ gear.
The day before, Dagestani Head Ramazan Abdulatipov signed a decree awarding the "Order of Merit of the Republic of Dagestan" to Vladimir Nazlymov. Noteworthy, the Olympic champion came to the small home to take part in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of Dagestan.
