Daghestani wushu athletes bring 40 medals from Russian championships

Makhachkala, April 16, 2014. Daghestani wushu team won 40 medals at the Russian championships held in Stary Oskol town, 10-14 April, team’s coach Magomedali Magomedov told RIA "Daghestan".

He said that there were competitions in three age groups: younger boys (13-14 years), youth (15-16 years) and juniors (17-18 years). More than 300 athletes took part in the sports forum; among them, 59 athletes were representing Daghestan.

As a result, 27 Daghestani athletes won the championships, 10 athletes placed second, and 3 athletes finished third. In the total standings, Daghestan was confidently the first.

The competition was the qualifiers for the European Championships scheduled for 7-12 May in the capital of Romania - Bucharest.
