Makhachkala, May 26, 2014. Daghestani wrestlers won 3 gold medals on the starting day of the 45th Ali Aliyev international tournament taking place in Kaspiysk.

That day, the Kaspiysk Ali Aliyev Sports Palace welcomed wrestlers in weight categories of up to 57, 65, 74 and 97 kg, 91 athletes in total.

The first gold medal for the Daghestan team was won by a trainee of the Khasavyurt Olympic Reserve School Artem Gebekov who defeated his opponent from Armenia Mikhran Djaburyan ( 9:2) in the final of the 57 kg weight. In this weight, Russia’s Bazar Zhalpasov and Daghestan’s Nariman Israpilov won bronze medals.

In the 65 kg weight, another trainee of the Khasavyurt school Akhmed Chakaev won the podium obtaining a landslide victory in the final over Ukrainian Tital Djafaryan (12:1).  Italian Franco Ciamizo and Khasavyurt’s Gadzhimurad Nurudinov got the bronze medals.

Russian wrestler Yuri Belonovskiy won the gold medal in the 97 kg weight through defeating Olympic champion Sharip Sharipov representing Azerbaijan in the final (5:2).
