Daghestani weight-lifter to perform at the World Cup among masters

Makhachkala, August 15, 2014. Daghestani athlete Alimagomed Iziev will take part in the world championship among masters-veterans in Copenhagen from August 30 to September 7.

A.Iziev will become a single sportsman from Daghestan acting for the Russian national team in the upcoming World Cup.
Having performed successfully in Azerbaijan, Daghestani weight-lifter won a permit for the World Weightlifting Cup. Iziev obtained a gold medal in the weight category up to 105 kg among sportsmen aged 55-59 years.

"Totally, I was able to lift the weight of 253 kg in the clean and jerk - 140 kg in the snatch and - 113 kg, thereby updating the record of Russia in the last discipline," – the weightlifter stressed.
