Makhachkala, June 17, 2014. Daghestani Taekwondo practitioners gained medals participating in the Cup of Russia held in Grozny on June 11 - 15, the coach of Daghestan Taekwondo Federation Gussein Magomedov said.

According to Magomedov, more than 400 athletes from 70 regions of Russia took part in the competitions. Daghestani team, presented by 16th athletes, won two silvers and one bronze medal.

In women's competition, a graduate of Kizlyar Children and Youth Sports School and the candidate for the upcoming Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing Amina Nimatulaeva took the second place.

Another silver medalist in the 63 kg weight category is Shamsutdin Gamzatov – a graduate of Daghestan State Martial Arts Centre. Ibrahim Mekhtiyev from Buynaksk obtained a bronze medal in the weight category up to 68 kg.
