Daghestani kickboxers win World Cup

Makhachkala, June 11, 2014. Daghestani sportsmen Ramazan Razakov and Bashir Tazhdinov as part of the Russian combined team have become the silver medalists of the Kickboxing World Cup finished yesterday in the Italian town of Lignano Sabyadorro, the athletes’ coach Akhmed Akhmedov told the RIA “Dagestan”.

Traditionally, the competitions were held in several sections of kickboxing: full-contact, point-fighting and musical form. Over 500 kickboxers from 30 countries took part in the World Cup.

Razakov, acting in the weight category up to 63.5 kg, became the winner of the competition, Tazhdinov - up to 75 kg. Both athletes had 4 fights each and lost only in the final.

Rivals of Daghestani kickboxers in the tournament became sportsmen from Spain, Norway, Ukraine, Hungary, Poland, Jordan and Brazil.
Winning the championship of Russia, held on April 6 to 12 in Ulyanovsk, graduates of Kizlyar sports club "Matador" won permits to the World Cup.

According to Akhmedov, Ramazan Razakov is a candidate to participate in the World Martial Arts Games. The championship will take place in Las Vegas in 2015. To participate in the prestigious competitions, Razakov needs to get included in the number of winners of the autumn European Championship in Portugal.
