Daghestani fighters become winners of the international tournament in Germany

Makhachkala, July 4, 2014. Daghestani freestyle wrestlers Azamat Nurickov and Dzhavid Gamzatov as a part of the national team of Belarus obtained bronze medals at the international tournament in Germany.

Azamat Nurickov performed in the weight category up to 65 kg. In his starting competition, a native of Kizilyurtovsky district defeated Canadian Veranes Garcia with a score of 6:4. Unfortunately, the winner of "Alexander Medved" tournament, lost to the World and European champion, silver medalist of Universiade in Kazan David Safarian. In the fight for the third place Nurickov defeated German wrestler Daum with a score of 10:1.

Another wrestler Dzhavid Gamzatov climbed to the third step of the podium. Last year the bronze medalist of the World Championships performed in weight up to 85 kg. In his first duel, the repeated champion of Belarus in Greco-Roman wrestling gained a victory over Manukyan with a score of 2-0. In the quarterfinals, Gamzatov confidently defeated Swede Johansson. In the semifinal Daghestani wrestler and his counterpart Kansu Ildem were equal (a score - 1:1), but the Turkish sportsman leaked to the finals. Dzhavid obtained a bronze medal in the duel against the winner of the European Youth Championship Ramsinom Azizsiru with a score of 2:0.
