Makhachkala, May 8, 2014. Daghestani sportsmen took the first team place in the unofficial team standings of the league and kung fu championships of Russia. The sport events was held in Moscow on May 4 - 6, the coach of Daghestan team Murad Ahadov says.
It is reported that more than 100 athletes from many regions of Russia participated in the competitions. 19 graduates of sports schools represented Daghestan. By results of the championship, Daghestan athletes obtained 15 golds, three silvers and one bronze medal. This result was the best among all the participating teams.
"We are very glad for our guys. All Daghestani athletes returned home with awards - it's a great result considering the high level of competition. Much of the success was achieved due to the president of Daghestan Kung Fu Federation Islam Guseyhanov, who strongly supported athletes in preparation for the tournament"- M. Ahadov noted.
The winners will have an opportunity to act as part of the Russian team in the European championship, the date and venue of which has not been yet determined.
