Daghestani athletes win Brazilian Jiu –Jitsu World Championships and total standings

Makhachkala, April 23, 2014. Yesterday, Brazilian jiu -jitsu world championships ended in the capital of the United Arab Emirates Abu Dhabi; Daghestani athletes won the championships and the total standings, President of the North Caucasus Federal District Grappling Federation (FILA) Murad Abdullaev told RIA "Daghestan".

Daghestani team included 79 athletes representing Makhachkala sports clubs: DCC, Top Team, the Sayidmuhammad-Hajji Abubakarov club, and the Khasavyurt club ‘Fighting Eagle’. Over a thousand jiu-jitsu fighters from all around the world participated in the prestigious sports forum.

As the result of the championships, Daghestani athletes won about 30 medals. Khasavyurt ‘Fighting Eagle’ fighter Shakhbulat Magomednurov was the brightest crayon in the box. He held all his fights in an assertive manner scoring six wins over athletes from the United Arab Emirates, Brazil and Kazakhstan.
