Dagestanis win seven medals at World Games of International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation

Makhachkala, October 6, 2015. Dagestan sportsmen won seven awards at the World Games of the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation held on September 28 - October 3 in Sochi, the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Dagestan informs.

The prestigious competitions are held once in two years. This is the second sports event by its importance after the Paralympics Games with the participation of people with disabilities. More than 600 athletes from 37 countries competed for medals in Sochi. The Russian team was the largest one - 268 athletes.

Dagestan sportsmen who acted for the Russian national team in arm wrestling won two gold medals. The 16-time world champion, the honored master of sports Tagir Magomedov won gold in the weight category up to 72 kg. The multiple world champion Yusup Yusupaliev won in the weight category up to 90 kg (class "ARM2").

Rasul Nazirov, the first master of sports in team sports among people with damage to the musculoskeletal system in Dagestan won gold in table tennis at the prestigious competitions.

Dagestani para taekvondists - world champion Sevil Abdulova (49 kg) (coach Kamal Biyarslanov) and Zaire Irazieva (coach Arslan Biyarslanov) gained victory and won the awards of the highest standard.
