Ulan-Ude, Buryatia region, March 31, 2015. Dagestan wrestlers of different styles won 16 medals at the Russian junior championships held March 27-29 in Ulan-Ude, Buryatia region, the press service of the republican ministry of physical culture and sports told RIA Dagestan.
Dagestani wrestlers were leading in five of the eight weights. The winners among them are: Gassangussein Badrudinov (55 kg), Gadjimurad Rashidov (60 kg), Gadji Nabiyev (74 kg), Arsanali Mussalaliev (84 kg), and Rassul Magomedov (97 kg). Silver medals were provided by Ismail Gadjiyev (50 kg), Ibragim Ilyasov (55 kg), Suleiman Omarov (84 kg), and Magomedamin Dibirov (120 kg). Seven more Dagestani athletes won bronze medals of the tournament. The total of 16 medals allowed the team to place first in the team standings.
The national championships were also a qualifier for international competitions including the European and the world championships.
