Makhachkala, January 23, 2016. The natives of Dagestan Gashim Magomedov and Patimat Abakarova became the gold medalists at the Taekwondo Championship held in Baku, the senior coach of Dagestan national youth team Magomed Magomedov says.

The finalist of the junior world championship of 2016, Gashim Magomedov debuted at Dagestan taekwondo championship and gained victory in the weight category up to 54 kg.

Patimat Abakarova won the first medal in the history of Azerbaijani taekwondo at the Olympic Games in the weight category up to 57 kg.
