Makhachkala, November 8, 2016. Dagestani sportsmen, acting for the Russian team, become winners of the World Martial Art Championship, taken place in Tuscany on November 1 to 6, the head of the regional branch of the Russian combat self-defense federation Magomed Shirvanov informs.
About 5000 athletes from 100 different countries became the participants of this international competition.
"The bouts were held simultaneously on 45 platforms in the various disciplines. By results of the championship, Dagestani athletes obtained 6 gold medals, as well as many other awards. Dagestanis distinguished themselves in the MMA, grappling and karate", - Shirvanov said.
Khalil Ibnukhazharov (up to 83 kg MMA), Magomed Gadzhimagomedov (up to 91 kg MMA) Makhach Shugaibov (up to 76 kg, grappling), Arthur Aydabulov (up to 60 kg, grappling), Shamil Sherifov (up to 50 kg , grappling), Jamal Alimov (up to 42 kg, karate) became the winners in the different weight categories and types of martial arts.
