Makhachkala, October 24, 2016. Dagestani wrestlers became the winners in the unofficial team classification at the International Tournament for the prizes of Olympic silver medalist Yusup Abdusalamov, the press service of Dagestan Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports reports.
The tournament took place in Botlikh village on October 22-23. More than 178 athletes from different regions of Russia, as well as Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Romania and Poland attended the sport event. The winners were determined in the six Olympic weight categories: up to 57, 65, 74, 86, 97 and 125 kg.
Dagestan athletes obtained the first place. Azerbaijani wrestlers (1-0-2) took the second place in the team standings and the third one – sportsmen from Krasnoyarsk (1-0-1).
In the individual competition, the winners of the tournament became Gadzhimurad Omarov (up to 57 kg, Makhachkala) Gadzhimurad Rashidov (up to 65 kg, Kaspiysk), Jabrail Gasanov (up to 74 kg, Azerbaijan), Azat Kadyrbekov (up to 86 kg, Kazakhstan), Omar Kulduev (up to 97 kg, Makhachkala), Yuri Belonovsky (125 kg, Krasnoyarsk).
The winners were awarded with the medals and diplomas of corresponding degrees, as well as cash prizes: 30, 20 and 10 thousand roubles, respectively. The winner in the weight category up to 74 kg, Yusup Abdusalamov gained the main prize - 300 thousand rubles.
